Remove the CNC parts from thier balsa sheets. Assembly goes quickly as parts have been cut very accurately.

Next making intake duct. I had a hard time deciding how to align the duct halves for cutting. I spent half the day holding the parts and staring at the plans. Finaly I said thats it for today. Even though I had a picture of the finished part I couldn't figure it out.

So what happened? I'm not sure this is the right way but this is how I did it. First I cut the intake end along the duct line. I held the parts together with pins like in the drawing below. On the fan end of the duct (as in the plans) wrap duct around duct guage. The guage is the same diameter as inside of fan. The duct halves should overlap slightly. Use pins as in drawing below to hold things in place. Mark your cut line down the center of this overlap. Now cut down this line cutting both pieces. Then sand the edges to prepare them for glueing. Test fit the parts, then glue.

Its simple to join the duct and fan unit with provided joiner.

A test fit of joiner on fan unit.
